Dwayne Winseck  isProfessor at the School of Journalism and Communication, Carleton University. His co-authored book with Robert Pike Communication and Empire: Media, Markets and Globalization, 1860-1930 won the Canadian Communication Association’s book-of-the-year prize in 2008.
