Selected conference contributions are undergoing peer review for a scheduled June 2026 release, guest-edited by Professor Rasha Allam
A forthcoming special issue of the Journal of Media Economics will feature selected contributions from the 2025 IMMAA Annual Conference, held last October in Egypt and hosted by the American University of Cairo. This collaboration with JME highlights the high-caliber research presented during the conference, develops important results, and extends the scholarly dialogue initiated in the region. The issue is guest-edited by Professor Rasha Allam at AUC and Dr. Ahmed El Gody at Orebro University in Sweden.
Published by the Taylor & Francis Group, the Journal of Media Economics is an influential source for original research on the economics and policy of media industries and companies. The selected papers are undergoing a peer-review process. According to Dr. Allam, readers can expect the special issue to be published in June 2026. The contributions to this special issue generate deep insights into rapidly evolving media markets, institutional policies, exciting innovation, and the media industry at intersection of technology and communication.
